Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources which could power forklifts. They can run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the equipment has to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
