How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Lots of people value the convenience of utilizing a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the security offered from the lift's basket offer a lot more piece of mind than attempting to perform a similar task working off the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the best option for performing tasks from heights.
The majority of scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the lift's base. These batteries need to be charged after a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple task to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any particular tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
So as to prepare the scissor lift for charging, position the machine next to an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated area. Then, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated in the lift basket, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Usually, units that are older would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
Next, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in an area that is well ventilated and next plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can likely take place.
