The kind of vehicle normally found in warehouses, factories and other work locations where moving heavy materials from one location to another is required is known as a forklift. The mast is the mechanism situated on the front of the forklift which hydraulically lifts and lowers the load. The "cat" is the area which is protected where the driver of the forklift sits.
Forklifts are capable of lifting loads between one and five tons in weight. Several types can be utilized to lift shipping containers and much heavier loads.
The tires of a forklift should be checked and maintained frequently. The types of tires on various forklifts differ based on factors such as frequency of use, weight of the loads and ground surfaces. Each and every forklift driver should have access to a forklift jack, tire press and replacement tires.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
Perform tire inspections regularly. Watch for signs of wear and damage to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40%, it has to be replaced.
When you buy tires, be sure you buy the correct kind - polyurethane, solid or pneumatic.
When the tire needs replacing, position the forklift jack under the tire and raise the forklift high enough that you can easily change the tires.
In order to remove the damaged tire, pull the tire from the rim utilizing the tire press. Install the new tire and properly secure it. If you are changing more than one tire and you have only one jack, lower the forklift, and then reposition the jack at the next tire.
A repair company can offer on-site tire repair. If the tire is too large for both in-house and mobile tire presses, the damaged tire should be transported to a shop that has a stationary tire press.
