Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main objective is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and big glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is gently rounded and extremely comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, so as to keep the operator working as efficiently as she or he could.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all individually adjustable as a way to maintain an optimum working position. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 ergonomically positioned multi-functioned and simple to operate levers which are provided for gear changing, windscreen wipers, the horn and window washers.
A ventilation/heating unit ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for defrosting, recirculation, cooling and heating. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The basic instruments that comprise: warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Moreover, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.
Among the main options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be equipped with is the ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring. This enables for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors which happen and their current values.
